PART II - PRODUCT

2.01 MANUFACTURER

Automatic swing door(s) and operation mechanism(s) shall be of type(s) and size(s) as indicated on plans. They shall be manufactured and furnished as a complete unit by Horton Automatics, a division of Overhead Door Corporation.

2.02 EQUIPMENT

A. PNEUMATIC OPERATOR

Shall be Series 5000 pneumatic, power opened and spring closed. The operator shall be concealed in a 6" x 6", extruded aluminum case with removable cover plate for ease of access. The master control switch shall incorporate an adjustable time delay from 1 to 30 seconds. Braking or checking shall be an integral function of the operator, utilization of controlled exhaust air provides shock-proof deceleration of the moving panel(s). A hold open feature shall be provided. The entire operator shall utilize a 24 VAC low voltage current. The power cylinder includes a piston rod moving in a linear motion that is attached to the patented continuous loop, chain drive pivot assembly. The pivot assembly utilizes two high-quality Fafnir self-aligning bearings that serve as the door pivot assembly. The roller chain shall be #40. This results in linear motion of the air piston assembly being converted to rotary motion in the pivot assembly. It shall be UL listed. The springs for closing power must be accessible for replacement and should not require the exchange of any main assembly or gear box. The addition or deletion of a spring shall allow the closing force to be varied. The operator shall be manually operated and be self closing in a power outage. The operator shall include a switch circuit that will cause the operator to be activated when manually pushed.

Series 5100 operator shall be surface mounted above the door with exposed arm connection to the door.

OPTION:

* Power open, power assist spring closing.

Explosion ProofÄThe electromechanical solenoid valve and electronic control shall be installed within 25 feet of the operator and outside the hazardous area. All activating switches shall be explosion proof using an intrinsically safe current.

OPTION:

The aluminum cover shall have the following finish:

(1) Standard Finish: Caustic etch and anodic oxide treatment to conform to aluminum association standards AA-M12C22A31 (204-R1).

(2) Stock Finish: An integral color hard coat finish dark bronze.

(3) Special Finish: An integral color hard coat finish (specify color).
